I have a 3 year-old Trimstar that I use on my 2.5 acres and very lightly commercially. Well, a couple of weeks ago I had been mowing for about 20 minutes and the blades suddenly disengaged. Tried the switch a few times but blades stayed off. Ran it for about 2 minutes, tried the switch again and it worked, blades started turning and grass was being cut. No more problems that day.

The next time I used it, 2 weeks later, the same thing happened. After 20 minutes the blades stopped. However, this time I turned switch off and back on and they started again. No more problems the rest of the day.

How do I prevent this intermittent blade stoppage?

You need to start looking at all your electrical connections.
Testing of the voltage coming out of the voltage regulator on your engine also, this is what powers your clutch.
PTO switch needs to be checked also.
Have you talked to your dealer?
