Teflon Tape or the New Teflon Compound?

What are you guys using on threads? I have used tape, but the new solvent free teflon pastes are very easy to use and I've had great success with them. These are rated and recommended for PVC, ABS. etc.

Also, are you guys using tape or paste in the swing fitting threads and nipples in the laterals or just threading them in?

I like 3/4" tape....its much cleaner than pastes and I never have leaks...I don't use teflon on nipple and swingjoints downstream of zone valves

3/4" tape on continuous pressure joints. A dab of paste to lube the threads on swing assemblys. Full paste on 1" swing assy.

same here. 3/4" tape on pressurized lines. No tape or paste on laterals. I've seen a plumber using tape and paste on threaded joints. ???
