Yep.........you're hearing it right. After being sold on a new Tak TL230 ( incl tax $44,500) I was having second thoughts. I decided to check out a local builder that had a '06 JD CT322 for sale. It has just 170 hours !

Soooo........I made an early trip to check the machine out this morning. It was just as you would expect a machine to be with 170 hrs.........clean and tight. Enclosed cab H/AC ,perfect tracks. He was firm on $32,000 as he paid $ 52,000 for it in '06. It included a set of JD forks and bucket.

I left a deposit and cancelled the TL 230.

$12,500 saved is $12,500 earned.........in my book.

The cab is MUCH smaller in size than the TL 230 but I can deal with the cozy feeling. After all....I'm a small guy.......in height that is :laugh:

I'll post some pics when I make the final deal.

Congrats on the machine. That's a good deal. I have a set of JD forks that are built very heavy. The CT322 is selling pretty good around here. Guys seem to be pretty satisfied from the ones I've talked to. If that guy paid $52K for it, whoever sold it to him was laughing all the way to the bank. My CT332 was close to that. I think $42K would be more realistic. Hands control, high flow, or 2-speed would add to it. Either way, still a good deal for you. Does it have warranty left?

Even though I hate Deere's, that still a steal of a deal!

Thanks, It is 2 speed and it has the JD style hand controls. Nothing like the TL230 joysticks. I didn't ask about the warranty.....I just assumed that it was over but I'll check.

Not the tax depreciation..........the lost value that goes into the dealers pocket vs the real wholesale value of the machine. As long as the machine has low hours and light use...........let the first owner deal with it. More so in this economy :usflag:

Takeuchi TL140.

Grading is my machines primary purpose and the JD would not cut it here in this hard dirt.
It was terribly noisy.
I hated the safety features.
You could not run the machine with the door open.
When grading the bucket would not stay in position.
The bucket has a terrible dead spot when lifting dirt out of a pile.
The cab was way too small.
It was way underpowered.
Did I say it was noisy?

Other members here love there JD's so it is more than likely just me .LOL
That's why they make all these different brands.

Good Business decision.

minimax you must have really been moving to get that done that quick. that sounds like a lot of excavating and grading for 1 1/2 hours.

Good deal! I hope you have good luck with your new machine. Did you buy it from W.I. Clark?

W.I. Clark is a great dealership. I had a VERY bad experience with one of their HAAM compactors though. They delivered it to my site with under 13 hours on the clock. One of my guys ran it for a day with no issues, but then it would randomly bog down and sometimes stall. You could sit there with the engine going all-out at 2400 RPMs with the parking brake on and vibration off and it would bog down and stall. They had the service guys out there probably 4 times as well as the rentals manager trying to figure the stupid thing out, but they ended up getting an Ingersoll-Rand compactor :weightlifter: from somewhere else and getting it to us. The HAAM had a Deutz air-cooled diesel in it. They replaced the fuel filters 2x when it was on the job. :dizzy: 17 hours on it and on fuel filter set #3. :hammerhead:

I hope they've had better luck with them now. The one that was having issues was the largest padfoot at their Wallingford location.

Other than that I've had no issues with any of their rentals and I've bought a few pieces of equipment from them as well.

I like it ! Love the low center of gravity. The cab is a bit louder than the new Tak 230 that I had as a demo ( the JD exhaust is just behind the cab where the Tak is located at the rear.) Hearing protection is a must !

As you may have read the machine (a 2006) has 173 hrs on it and was 14,000 less than a new Tak 230. I'm very pleased .

The CT 322 is a well made MTL and performs very well. I'll try for a few pics tomorrow.
