If I design a zone that is near max capacity of the available water, say 15gpm available @45psi,heads will use 13gpm@45psi....

....is there any advantage to using a flow-control zone valve?

I would be careful about maxing out a zones capability. What are you going to do in the future when the water pressure drops?

How much extra is a valve with flow control. $1.50 max?

Think I was up and posting by 6:20am for fun? I left the house at 6:50am. Just now got back. 3pm. Put in 8 hours, and it feels like a half day to me.

All this FC is gonna eat up my "case of beer" profit margin.

Nope.....flow control lets you "set" the diaphragm for optimal operation. Don't tell anyone
about this, but with care, you can back down the flow control & replace a solenoid.

We need another Aussie explorer type to lead an expedition to find the Elusive W*M Valve.

Valve-sniffing dogs? Why didn't I think of that.
