Ok what is the best stick edger you can buy I bought a echo good or bad choice?

i have two echos and one stihl. I prefer the stihl because it has a straight shaft that makes it more comfortable to work. The echo has the curved shaft and is fine for small jobs but seems to create more of a strain on larger jobs.

echo suck....you buy them at home cheapo!

Shindaiwa LE261 does the trick. Look at redmax too. Starts with 1 or 2 pulls everytime, bet your echo doesn't.

I use edgers every time on every account, it's pretty much mandatory in Florida. I have an Echo PE-200. All I can say is, it got me through my startup point but it isn't the best edger around. It doesn't have power to tackle slightly overgrown edges, wet edges, and it dosen't know what a warm start is. Cold start, every time. I actually sold it yesterday. It is being replaced by a Stihl straight shaft edger attachment for my Stihl KM 90 R. I love the power it has for trimming hedges, and it should be a pretty sweet edger.

My day job has a PE-200 and I also noticed the funky starting. Ours was also not set up well. After edging 2 miles of side walk, the curved shaft gets a bit old.
I also noticed it when i borrowed it, that it doesnt have any power for overgrown areas. Its fine for clean ups, but otherwise your going to be making a second (or third) pass.
I have heard really awesome things about redmax equipment (my husky trimmer has a redmax head that i LOVVVE) so imma find me a dealer and pick up there edger.

Best edger?? Dedicated or stick? The best dedicated edger is Tanaka's 600 as for stick edgers I'm not sure since I edge once a year and maintain the rest of the year with a string trimmer.

I agree. Shindaiwa seem to do the best job, are most reliable, and are the most comfortable to operate. I might be an amateur but id thought id put my 2 cents in.

Me too....that sucker is hard to beat!!!I'll bet I can beat it, let's do a power to power comparison

Red Max HEZ2500S = 25.4cc's

Stihl FC95 = 28.4cc's

Stihl FC110 = 31.4cc's

Stihl KM 130 R w/ straight edger attachment = 36.3cc's
