Hello group

I am a homeowner who wishes to re-sod my front lawn

I live nr Myrtle Beach SC

I have received one quote so far for:

10 pallets of centipede grass
prep work - tilling leveling etc
irrigation system rainbird 2 zones

I have been quoted $2950

I am wondering how this quote seems to you

Plus, could I expect to get this for cheaper later in the year?

Many thanks

:)

to me it sounds like a pretty good deal for my neck of the woods, ive never dealt with centipede grass so i couldnt tell you if thats fair but for till work leveling and irrigation $2000 pretty dang good and roughly $1000 for 10 plts sod is very fair so id say yes great deal

thanks for your reply

Do prices come down much if you wait say until late in the year - off season?

I would say that is a good price. Especially if you are on city water, having to have back flow installed and everything. Last time I checked centipede my cost would be about $1000 just for the sod. Get references. Sometimes you get what you pay for. I couldn't do it for that unless I had great equipment that would make the prep and sod work a breeze, which I don't :(. Prices dropping? Not a chance.

PS I meant to say getting the irrigation from scratch. Dang I hate this edit feature.

Waxwabbit:
I live just down from you in Murrells Inlet. Ten Pallets of centipede delivered is about $90/pallet. Labor to put it down runs about $50/ pallet in our area. On the Rainbird irrigation this would depend on the type of installation. I could put that in for you with a controller box, two stations, and up to 5 heads/station with a run of 2 hundred ft. at a cost of $900 with hook on to city water. That's sorta the going rate. So. $2900 is a good price. Grab it and if you need that sod maintained to look like a golf course, let me know. Roy

I live in Longs, SC

Right by Little River, off of route 9

I don't wish to waste your time. I am really just wanting to see if my first quote is beatable, and if the price would be cheaper during say winter-time?

Thank you

Lee: That is a wonderful price; I wouldn't be any cheaper anytime. I'd grab that and be happy. I could do the lawn maintanence using the best products available and keep that sod in professional shape. Let me know. Just keep it watered for now. Do not do anything other than a little starter fertilizer until February. Roy
