My 72" Dixie Chopper with 32HP Generac is almost impossible to start cold at times. Once it starts, it has a mountain of power, runs perfectly, and starts first piston up the rest of the day. We spent a month and $400 at the dealers over the winter, to no avail. The engine has about 600 hours on the meter, no blow by, no smoke, no oil consumption. Anyone else have this problem?

If it starts ok when hot, then I'd imagine the fault is with the choke activating linkage. Can you check to see if the choke is fully engaging. You might just have to adjust the control linkage.
Good luck Phil :)
