hahahahahahaha, is this some kinda of joke? lol

Dont worry too much...Lance aint gonna be in business long at those prices. A couple of days of hard labor coming home with five bucks....he'll hang it up!

Madness? Are you really worried about about a kid taking any of your accounts?

I'm pretty sure that 90% of my customers are so loyal to me that they would never think of hiring anyone else, as long as I continue providing high-quality service.

And $5. . .so what if Lance gets three or four lawns for the summer? More power to him. . . you have to give the kid credit for actually working during the summer.

Now, I would still tell Lance to increase his minimum by about 500 - 600%

He says starting at $5.00. Do you think he has ever charged $5.00 for an entire job? After all, how is he going to pay for that advertising campaign?

that is more than likely a little kid trying to make a dime. i hope.

Yea, i bet the kid is maybe 10 years old. I don't see anything wrong with it. Thats the best way to learn.

This is good....

Are you seriously pissed @ this kid for running that "ad" if you wanna call it that.
If it wasn't some kid, then yea I would be pissed to, but i guess that is pretty messed up running prices like that, I hear ya, but It's just a kid...he'll learn, hopefully.

07-27-2008, 02:47 PM
:) No, I'm not worried about Lance or anyone else for that matter. I just thought the flyer was funny. I've met the kid before, he has a good head on his shoulders.

Lol Good luck to him. He's probably just some little kid trying to make an extra buck. I wouldnt take anything like that too seriously.

Lance has got his head screwed on right. Notice he says "starting at $5". That's just to draw the customer in. Once he sees your plot he tells you "Sorry you do not come into the $5 category" and gives you a quote at least 5 times the initial amount.
As for the presentation of Lance's little effort, it might even be the case that he's got a design company to do a sophisticated imitation of a five year old's writing just so that it'll make him stand out from the crowd. If I do a flyer again, I might rob his ideas.

haha more power to the kid for wanting to earn a buck or two. nothing wrong with helping out the economy in a time of a recession.

07-30-2008, 04:52 PM
i should hire that kid to mow my lawn i could pay him his $5 and take on another job and moke more money

07-30-2008, 05:12 PM
Good for the kid. Its how I got started.
