Can someone explain to me how to turn up the rpm's on my 26 hp kawasaki? It seems to be a bit slower than when it was new. It has about 200 hrs on it and it does not seem to turn the blades as fast as it once did. Is it normal for it to slow a little as it gets hours on it? I have replaced the belts once already. Help????????

Our '04 TT had a problem with the throttle cable, it was moving at the control end when you would move the throttle handle. We had to recrimp the throttle cable outer casing at the handle end where it attached to the mounting bracket. then added a couple of drops of super glue to the crimp and it hasn't given us a problem since. (about 3 weeks now.) The Kawi FD750D which is the 27hp l/c engine operates at 3600 rpm at WOT. There is a screw adjustment that the throttle plate linkage stops against. Goto : www.scag.com and get the manual for your model and it will spec the idle and high rpms. Also we had a problem with the outside casing moving at the clamp at the throttle linkage, we removed the plastic casing and tightened the clamp against the metal outside casing of the cable and it works GREAT. Just remember that what Very Little Service a Scag will need it will usually be a very simple fix. :usflag:
