I have 2 redmax BC250s trimmers. One was purchased new a 2 months ago the other has a few hours on it. The new one would always start first pull everytime and the other would take a 2-3pulls but usually only the first pulls of the day. Now they both take a ton of pulls to start up and then most of the time end up cutting out the first start. A buddy of mine that I work with all of his redmax trimmers are like this and he always flips his upside down after it starts and full revs it and they are good. Im thinking about changing the plugs but it seems like a very short plug life since one trimmer was pretty new. I always use redmax oil mixed 50:1 and I also use high test gas

My Shindaiwas are the same way. Are they hot when they do that? Try a tune up kit, taking the carb completly apart and using carb cleaner, also spraying carb cleaner all over the engine and cleaning it, including the coil and flywheel too.
Perhaps it's a problem with the ethanol in the gasoline? There are a number of 2 stroke issues with that stuff.

I'd replace the air filter.

That, too.
I just replaced a whole carburetor on mine but it is 3 years old.

If they are that new....take them back to the dealer for warranty.
