Never seen one, the whole point of changing the color is to notice the mix. Most are green blue or red. I would just dump that tank out mix a new batch for yourself with good oil (Amsoil is my choice) and that way you know what you got. Or you could always take it back, be an A**, and get a new trimmer if you ran that one a lot. I would just mix new and go if it were me. Good luck.

I have trouble with some colors.
I was 22 before I found out I was partially color blind.
I am not saying anyone else has the same problem, but a simple test will help determine if the fuel in you can is 2 cycle mix.
Place a small amout on your finger, blow on it. If your finger is dry (and possibly white) there is no mix. If there is a thin film of oil on your finger (after blowing), the fuel is 2 cycle mix.
I worked for the local county for a few years. They would buy about 12 cheap homelites each year. The motors would be worn out after about 4 months of continuous use in this west Texas heat. I asked them to change their mix to 4 ounces to the gallon (32 to 1). To my knowledge, we never had another engine failure. The manual on these called for 50 to 1 mix.
At least under our conditions, the richer mix extended the life of the trimmers.
Good luck

You didn't say what model trimmer you bought. There is at least one 4 stroke model out there that uses straight gas.

If this is a true 2-cycle, I think I would be taking it back to the dealer to have inspected at the very least if it has been run. Sounds to me like this is a straight gas situation.

I agree, I don't know of ANY oils that don't dye the fuel a darker color. Well, only thing that wouldn't is using some 30wt. oil to make the 2 cycle mix with!
Speaking of using engine oil to make 2 cycle... I remember way back, this old timer used to buy trimmers at auctions and such, and to fuel them he'd put a shot of oil in, from a quart of engine oil, then fill with gas, shake good, and then off he'd go. I guess it would work for him, lol.

Hey Gang,
Whoa up there, there for sure a clear oil to mix for all two cycle engines.....
Castrol oil makes it, but it is synthetic oil, I use it and so far it has proved to be a fine lubricant. I get mine at walmart and most all parts house's have it on the shelf. I rebuilt my Polaris four wheeler and have used it in it from that time.
(bout two years.) I also run a richer mix than it calls for , with weed eaters I have always mixed 32/1 for them... Let em smoke.... New plug once in the while.......they keep on ticking. Paul

The old Mobil MX2T oil (two cycle mix oil) did not have a dye.

thanks guys the trimmer i bought was a redmax bcz2600s and it is a 2 cycle took whip back to dealer and the mech told me its got the mix in it i asked him what mix he used in it he told me he uses what ever he has in the back no one brand all the time ? this is the same mechanic that i had a wb in his shop twice for hard starting which he never did figure out but he changed the sparkplug TWICE which did nothing for the hard starting problem i finally figured it out with the help of the guys on lawnsite needle problem flooding engine, so i like the salesman in the local dealer but mechanic is bad so i will be going to y-guards and from now on i am just a small operator but i buy at least one or two items a season upgrading my equiptment like new whip blower hedgetrimmer stick edger etc they great to buy from but to get service NO GOOD SERVICE FORGET IT. I took the whip home emptied it out and put the proper mix in it I THINK YOU GUYS WERE CORRECT I BET HE JUST PUT STRAIGHT GAS IN IT IF I BROUGHT IT BACK FOR SERVICE HE WOULD JUST PUT A NEW SPARKPLUG IN IT. OH YEAH THE MECHANIC TOLD ME REDMAX WAS JUNK THEY WERE NOT SAYING THAT WHEN I PURCHASED IT AND DROPPED OVER 500 ON IT. SOORY FOR THE RANT
