I will have to get some pictures of the two my brother and I purchased this past Saturday. He bought a Z500 with a 52" deck and a 25 HP Kaw, and I got the 60" with 28 Hp kaw. So far LOVE them.

Yeah it has never run right. I use my handheld 95% of the time. I am thinking of upgrading my backpack for next year. Probably, a Redmax 8001 or a Sthil

Here's mine, a Z-453 / 48" Turbo Force with the 23hp Kawasaki. It drinks fuel like an alcoholic sips gin, but it's been a great machine for us.

How much did you have to give for that? My dealer wants over $8,500 for a 52".

I believe I paid about $7,500 for it, which was during Spring of '07. I'm sure they've gone up quite a bit though; just like everything else.

Off the subject a little: I am going to purchase another Wright Stander this Fall, with the 36" Rapid Height Adj. mowing deck. Let me tell you, since the purchase of my 2007 Stander, compared to the price of a new 2008 (same exact model); there has been a significant increase in the price for a new one based on comparison to last year's prices. :blob2:

Here is my 2005 Z Master. I took the ROPS off to clear low branches of the many Live Oak trees we have here in Florida.

I just got too close to a ditch and started spinning. I didn't want to go forward because it was deep. So I started backing up, and was gonna point the mower up hill and gun it, but the deck bottomed out and caused me to spin the tires until I dug a hole and was really stuck.

Nice mower Bret! I remember when I came over to your house and got to ride that puppy. That mower is a beast. But I love my lazer z just as much. btw, the 19 hp is great on gas but with mulching it is a bit under powered though. Bob's wanted $7500 or more for the lazer z 46" with the 23 kawasaki. So I took the $5999 promo model instead.

I don't know how you can discharge is our area? Most of my lawns have to be mulched or there is grass everywhere:dizzy: One guy made me mulch his grass. It does come out really smooth with the triton deck.

You ought to come and watch how we do it then. Triton Deck, Turbo Force Deck, whatever deck; I don't know how anyone can mulch the majority of the time in our area. My customers would get pissed if I left all of that crap buried under the surface of their lawns, only to ultimately find it tracked through their homes after they walked through their yards. Besides, the thatch layer that mulching creates, you have to bag, discharge, or de-thatch it at intervals to prevent thatch build-up. Another words, you must eventually clean up all the crap that you've left behind.

It took me an entire season to straighten out some of our lawns in Old Metairie as a result of other companies mulching the hell out of them and damaging them resulting from too much of a thatch layer. Once thatch has built up, it restricts the lawns from getting enough water and nutrients to the soil and root system, which eventually leads to packed down soil, and then dead spots where the grass just won't grow anymore.

Sure it's fine to mulch every once in a while, especially on frequently mantainied Bermuda grasses and Zoisia; but with our consistently thick and wet St. Augustine and Centipede grasses here in S. Louisiana, there comes a point where you've got to clean up that once beneficial mulch-turned-crappy mess that you've left behind or you're going to have some of your customers really upset with you when they call in the professionals for a consultation as to why their lawns have turned to $hit. :hammerhead:

On a different note, the 'Hit & Run' lawn business just ain't flying down here as well as it once was. People want their lawns in tip-top manicured shape throughout the year. The lco that cuts grass and hauls a$$ is losing his accounts to companies like mine. A lot of folks are expecting quality for the increasingly higher prices that they are having to pay for lawn service here. I've always made it a point to exceed their expectations, no matter what price my customers and I have ever agreed on for lawn services.

Pay attention to the details, and live by your own rules my Lawn Brother! :walking:

The triton is the worst deck i've ever used. Its on my lazer and doesnt give anywhere near as good a cut as my exmark turf tracer with the ultra cut
