Why do you say not the 6.0 ? I know a few people that swear by them. The gas isn't an issue as I get about 6 miles to the gallon right now. My neighbor has the 6.0 in his 06 work truck and pulls a 21 foot trailer with 3 zeros and a walk behind everyday. Say its the best truck he has ever owned. I told him about the deal and he said he paid more for his single cab work truck than that. I'm going to call the local Dodge dealership today as they are advertising 40% of sticker before any negotiations on any Dodge truck on the lot.

the 6.0 in our truck has been pretty reliable and pulls really well. its really the type of trailer you have though. Ive had over 3000lbs in the bed and the truck barely felt it. yet my 6.5'x12' trailer loaded with a rider and wb and 3 trimmers and a blower feels ALOT heavier than when i pulled a mini x. its all about the tongue weight.

we have an intake, hypertech programmer, and true dual exhaust on ours and when i punch it on the highway it really gets up and goes. gotta love that the lq4 is basically an iron block ls1!

You will be waiting awhile on that GM buisness card/lowes card. I bought an 08 sierra a month ago and its still "processing"

Kinda what I was thinkning. Did they offer a couple of tool box options for you? Seems like they want to sell a truck.

When I got mine last yr, they had a bissiness owner incentive..depending on how much the truck cost, you get x amount tword optional equipment like line-x liner, step bars ect...I had to ask for it, they dont offer that info freely...:usflag:

I didn't get offered any tool boxes which doesn't bother me cause the crew cab bed is already small enough. I got the 0 pxt on the truck so dealer was hard to haggle with, which I now know I could of done differently. Overall I'm happy with the truck and for being 19 I can't complain but I will deal with the dealership differntly in the future when I purchase vehicles

i think when you get the 0% interest you give up about $6500 in rebates. is that right or is my dealer full of it?

I just purchased a 2008 GMC Sierra 2500HD with the following equipment:
Work truck package
Regular Cab
8' Bed
Fire red exterior
Dark Titanium interior
6.0L Gasoline engine
6 Speed automatic transmission
4x4
3.73 Rear axle ratio
Snow plow prep
Air conditioning
H.D. Auto lock differental
H.D. Trailer/hauling package
Integrated trailer brake controller
Roof marker lights
245/75R 16" tires and wheels
Cloth seat trim

Sticker on the window was $31,000. I purchased the vehicle during the Memorial Day sale just before gas went to $4.00 a gallon. I purchased the truck for $25,000 including tax + title. When I purchased it I believe that i got around $5,000 in rebates. So far I am very happy with the truck it is a big improvement from the 1993 F-150 I had. We have a 6x12trailer that weights 3,000 - 3,500 pounds and it doesn't know it is back there. The tow/haul mode is really nice. It's like having a jake brake on a semi. So far I just turned 2,000 miles (made up of city and towing miles) on it and the average MPG is 12.5MPG. Let me know if you have any other questions.

we pull our 24ft trailer with a t190 with a bucket and usually one attachment and it sucks pulling it.. it isnt flat out horrible but it could be better. and it really hates the bobcat 430 excavator we rent! like i said it pulls it but it isnt that great in anyway. i really wish it was a diesel. i dont like chevy that much but i like this truck just not the motor.. but the truck is a great deal and i would go after it..

Think you can do a bit better. The truck is a 2007. Have dealer give the extras tool kit & card in the form of a cash discount. I know it is brand new, however, it has probable depreciated 4 or 5 thousands dollars. If you shop around you can get great deals on used trucks - people are panicking and unloading them no matter what their loss. A large part of GM 15 billion dollar loss was a multi billion dollar write down of the trucks it was getting back that were coming off lease!

Thats what I was looking at also. How long has it been sitting on the lot, its already taking a beating on depreciation etc, etc,. With the 09 models getting ready to come out. I have a dodge dealer locally thats offering 45% off sticker price on any new dodge on the lot. I contacted them yesterday and they seem to have some great deals going. Can't believe everything you hear but was told on the phone by a "lot lizard" that I could get a gas 3/4 ton around $ 21,000. I find it hard to take but I told him i would be down in a couple of days to have a look. But your right there are some awsome deals right now. And i think they are just going to get better.
