View Full Version : Tanaka "long shaft" trimmer?

There was a post somewhere on here about trimmers with long shafts,Tanaka makes one ,a TBC-260PFL, but according to my dealer that is not a valid item number? I saw it on their (Tanakas) website! I am trying to find out price on it and then decide between it and the Kawasaki 26cc trimmer which also has a 70" shaft but weighs around 9lbs! Anyone know how much the Tanaka goes for and why they are confused about the model number? Thanks

The TBC-260PFL has an MSRP of $429.99. Also, I think the 69" on the Kawa refers to overall length, not drive shaft length.

I got mine for about $420 plus the hedger and hedger extention attachment and the pole saw attachement all for about $930 includes tax. A bit pricy in my opinion, but man does it save the back. It is a little heavy and you'll need to adjust the handle to make the trimmer balance itself out. It is kind of tiresome swinging back and forth for along time, but my arms look like Popeye's now and it is no problem.

Yes. I'm currently field testing the 280-pfl. If I'm not mistaken, it is available from Tanaka dealers. So far, the testing has gone very well.
