SCAG HYDRO WB,IS IT WORTH THE EXTRA 300 BUCKS TO GO WITH THE 52"? i do not have a trailer so im relying on just the pickup bed.i currently have a 48" belt drive im looking to replace.i know the 52" is 20 pounds heavier too but my sales rep said he sells more 52" than the 48" but in my casewith no trailer he would recommend the 48 even though the 52" would fit.anyone have any input?
thanks guys

Its a PITA to get a 52 into a truck, you need to tilt the deck up over the wheel wells. Unless your doing large lawns, the 48" is fine.

I have the 52 Scag hydro wb and only bought a 52 because I got a very good deal on it. There is pros and cons to everything. I only have 2 accounts that the 52 makes a difference . They both are 1 acre plus in size. Another thing is your truck, much easier to load a 48. You will be fine with a 48 wb. Take the 300.00 and buy a trimmer or whatever

I had a 52" lesco, I built a platform to fit mower over the wheel well. I put the 52 in a Nissan mid size. Its tight

but it fits. Or buy a small trailer at home depot. Ed

48 will scalp less and is the standard for commercial mowers.

i used to run 48's but now run 52 and 61'' decks. The 52's have a faster blade speed and always seem to leave better cut and stripe than 48's do in my opinion.

The 52's almost NEVER fits through a single gate fence unless it's an unusually wide one...
The 48" will fit through most 4-foot gates which are pretty standard, I'd say about half the gates out there.

Reason I have two 48's.
That and I can't stand floating decks but that's another story.
