any of the wall when YOU were building it?

Nope sorry. Just after shots.

That job was challenging though. No place to stock pile dirt. And no room between the wall and woods, to move around.

the wall looks ight i guess but the end of it looks like shiat.... you should have stepped down more gradually instead every block.you could have done like a block in 1/2 or 2 block stepdowns and then double capped. that is if you built the wall!!! and yea it is seperating pretty badly why for??

How recently was this wall installed? And just out of curiosity, why didn't you cut the caps?

kreft
08-04-2008, 09:55 PM
Yes, we built the wall. I knew someone will cop-a-fit about it. We put this wall up in June.

I don't know why we didn't step down more gradually.

That wall wont last as long as it could have because it abruptly stops at the one end instead of gradually. There is still alot of earth that is hanging over the edge on that side that will eventually sink and wash out.

I agree, we need some construction pics of the wall it doesn't look proper to me, also, whats behind the wall to prevent hydrostatic pressure? Did the med trailer want you to pull any weeds or spruce it up because it still looks like arss. I do love the equipment, did you do the stairs, they look good however I don't like the railing sticking out so far on the stairs. The stone also looks fine with the edging.

Well, what i like to do is to start on the ends of a hilly lawn.. That way you have nice straight line to begin with, rather than just going from the middle of the lawn an cutting it in half. That way you can keep the lines straight, just try and concentrate when your on the inclines because sometimes you might take your eye off of it and one little move can runin perfect stripes. Just keep going in different directions... You'll figure it out sooner or later. Nothing hard at all!!! Let me know how you make out.

Pick a point at one end and and just focus on it till you get there.

Thats what I do but when i get to the base of the hill it gets crooked.

Im not making fun of him by no means here. Im just saying what they look like, and i gave him som pointers on how to keep them straight. Also hills do show optical illusions where your stripes might really be straight but look like there crooked but really arent. But try that idea on flat lawns and then move onto the hills.. Good Luck. :weightlifter:

O i got flat gound dialed in. Its just the stuff where you start off on the top of a hill, work to the bottom, and go up a hill, and turn around and do it all over again that is tricky for me.

I will checker it next week. stay tuned.

I did the whole work release thing when i was in high school. And yes the school does treat you like a prisoner. I also took " landscaping" and "Hardscaping" at the vocational school. It kinda was out dated but it did show me some of the old tricks of the trade.

enough with the pointless antics, back and forth over who's better then who, etc. If you feel the need to ALWAYS poke fun, rip apart another's work, call another member names, etc. then please don't. We have an ignore feature at the site that you can take advantage of or not respond at all if you feel the need to be that negative.

Thanks
