I'm wanting to try Amsoil for our 2 cycle and 4 mix equip.

What size bottles have you found works the best, and do you mix 2, 2.5, or 5 gals at a time.

I use the Amsoil ASE oil at 80:1 which is 1.6 oz per gallon of gas.
Since the oil comes in quarts, I use an old bottle of Sta-Bill which has graduations measures for 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 and 1 oz.
I put a 1 oz measure and add just under a 3/4 measure to a 1 gal. gas can.
Of course, you can use a measuring cup and add one 8 oz. cup of oil to a five gallon gas can...

I took advantage of the offer made on LS a couple of months ago, a free sample. The sample was an 8 oz bottle. After I started using the product, I ordered a case of quarts (12 bottles in a case). Now, I just use the 8 oz bottle, with the graduations marked as my measuring device. I mix 5 gallon cans, 8 oz per can (75:1), 2 1/2 gallon cans, 6.5 oz per can (50:1).

If you know you're going to buy a fair amount of Amsoil, become an Amsoil Preferred Customer. That way, you get deep discounts on all that you buy. I think it costs like $20 to become a preferred customer.

Or if you don't want to fool with that, you might find a dealer near you.

You can also become a dealer for about 60 bucks, i think, it is sold thru a multi-level marketing program.

Good system for some products and can work well (like with Amsoil) but it has been abused too many times...

some people just dont understand the concept. If we could just develop a mutli level marketing program for lawn mowing, we would all be rich :-)

I guess I'll just keep using the Stihl oil, I don't want to mess with measuring oil.

Yeah, I'm really kinda needing that BE-90. I have 700 hours (@ 60 MPH that's 42,000 mile equivilent) on the original one. It's probably ready to be changed.
