Been raining every day here for 2 - 1/2 weeks. Almost mid august and ya cannot tell who has irrigation and who dosnt. Systems are not working , so they are not breaking. Even if they did break , no one would see em to call.

I dont mind a little August slow down to relax and play a bit before the sept rush, but weather sucks for that too.:dizzy:

We are a big state. Hurricanes don't get past our pressure systems up here.

How's Dallas/Fort Worth look today. My sister flies through there on the way home. I foresee a delay getting there, or getting out. One of the two and maybe both.

I'm south of Fimco by almost four hours and in my area we are over twelve inches below normal rain fall.
This plus record high temperatures means you guys up north had better start flushing real soon.
That latest front, Edwardo or whatever it's name was just increased the humidity to about 95% and what little rain observed was literally unmeasurable in my rain gauge.

We got hit "head on" by Eduard here in Houston. Some areas got some real rain yesterday but mostly it was just light rain and drizzle all day. Some scattered showers today but we're still several inches behind for the year. I don't think any of what we got will make it anywhere near DFW and we're coming into the driest months of our year now.

Three straight evenings of rain. Feels so good. I'm sleeping better again due to the cooler nights. So I'm not as much of a PITA again. :)

Ive gotten more phone calls from layed off irr labor looking for work then I have for customers needing work done.

We must be closer than I realized with my new location. Rained again last night to make two days in a row. System is OFF for only the second time since I arrived and now for for two whole days! Chance of more rain all week. As long as the arroyo doesn't flood.........................

Sunday came with a lot of lightening , at least when it stops there will be controllers to replace.

Our last rain 3 weeks ago was the one that created the cemetery job I ranted about.

Load up yesterday morning and head out to a new install, get everything laid out, trencher off trailer, and boom! Been raining since then. I don't even have any paperwork left to do, so I guess today will be spent on the Net, watching old movies, and napping. Ooorah!

Which one are you installing? I installed the wireless Toro (gasp! :dizzy:) on one last week. I also charged $175. But I think that was a little cheap for this one. I think it cost me $70-$80. Took 20 minutes.

The Toro one is VERY similar to the Irritrol one (Toro owns Irritrol). But is has a bunch of features to it. You can choose from 3 soil types, # of days to stay off, and some other features. I set it as a basic sensor. It will turn back on when the sensor dries out. Seemed pretty cool. I was trying to pick up the Irritrol one, but Ewing didn't have it(or maybe carry it). And I didn't want to drive to the other one that does carry it.

Here's a link

http://www.toro.com/irrigation/res/smturfcont/rainsensor/index.html

You can also get it as a freeze sensor combo. Seeing how this was an ALL Netafim system, I didn't think it would be a problem with no freeze sensor.

And when it freezes and cracks it'll be your fault:laugh:

hell of a game, I figured 10-0 in the first was a lock. Then thought , gee if they come back this will be a great game. Sure beats the snot out of a 1-0 game.

We are cooking in our high80's/low 90's temps with near 100% humidity, whilst waiting to see what Ike is gonna do (today they're saying it's going to visit Fimco).

Can't wait for October and more comfortable temps. Actually looking forward to wearing long pants!

Raining here.........I'm going to be a coward and wait til morning to see how bad. It rained over the Labor Day weekend and the arroyo flooded and covered two fairways in trash. I still don't have it cleaned up. It is a low area and a total bog. We only got .75" when it flooded, but the 900+acres in the water shed above me must have been more "blessed".
