I have been looking for a 2nd truck for my business. I have a 2001 F-250 Super Duty with a V-10. Due to fuel prices I want to purchase a small truck for smaller jobs/daily driver. I came across this 2003 Toyota Tacoma. It was rarely used by the original owner. Heres the kicker....only has original approx.22,000 miles on it! In the process of getting a loan for it.

Sweet. I use a toyota for most of my estimates and running around also. Beats the 4.5 MPG on my Ford!

I bought an 08 4 cylinder Ranger back in April For the same reason. To use when I don't need to tow or haul anything heavy. I love the little truck!

So what's rare about it? Not trying to be a a$$, just wondering

Rare in the case of the condition and mileage for a 2003 model. Used vehicle resale value sources usually consider average mileage to be 15,000 miles per year. This truck is waaaay below average mileage.

those are sweet trucks I love that old body style with the extended cab. that truck would catch some eyes with a good logo on it. is it 4x4 if so it will go to some places you never thought it could go. thats a 6 cylinder right and how much??

I looked at the new models (2007 - 2008). I, too, like the older body styles. Yes it has the V-6 in it, and 4x4. One thing I wish truck manufacturers would get back to is the good old transfer case level on the floor for 4WD. The 2003 Tacoma has the lever and you can "feel" when it engages instead of hoping your engaged with the push button crap everybody has on their trucks now.

You hit it right on the head ($) GregByrd. Unfortunately, trucks are inversly priced right now. Big trucks are getting lower and small trucks are getting higher in price. The $18,995 is actually just slightly under Kelly Blue Book value if you figure it in "excellent" condition, which it is. You either have to pay a lot for gas or a lot for gas mileage!

No doubt that is a very nice truck. So you going to get it?

TandM.....Do a used vehicle search on KBB.com (Kelly Blue Book site) You can plug in all the criteria you are looking for (model, year, distance to search from your zip code, etc). You should be able to find what you are looking for. I dont care for the 4 door short beds either. I also believe Toyota is regressing in the quality of their trucks with the newer models. There is no reason I wouldn't be able to get 200k miles out of the 2003 with just routine maintenance.

Going to get it as soon as I finalize a deal on a Mitsubishi Montero I am selling. Also, the Tacoma is going to have emergency equipment installed (lightbar & siren) In addition to my Fence, Lawn & Landscape business I work part time and respond for 2 Fire/Rescue Departments.
