We get asked (emailed) all the time where to rent our 9-hp Turf Revitalizer for over seeding or lawn renovation work.
Home Depot Tool Rental is going to start carrying our 9-hp "Commercial" power seeders on top of our 6-hp home-owner model in order to cater to commercial customers. :cool2:
The 9-hp model is 50% more productive than any other 20" walk-behind seeder on the market. This is our "Commerical" unit that is fast, powerful, and easy to use.
They will start showing up this month. If your rental store doesn't have one yet, just ask the tool rental manager to when they are getting their unit.
If you don't have a local Home Depot Tool Rental Center, then check your local rental store, if they don't have one yet, just ask them when. Most rental stores will purchase one if they know people are looking to rent it.
Of course you can always purchase one from a dealer as well.
Thanks
David

They are powerful enough to cut slits in hard clay 1 - 1.5" deep at 3mph all day long. The unit will go down a full 2" into the ground.
Of course you only need to do 1/4", but when you are working a rough area, the extra power is very nice.

The guy at the top elected not to do pre-emergent (note weeds along drive)
All three yards! (the green is synthetic - sorry - would be cool if real but it is still way cool - we hit almostgolf balls to it from up to 75 yards away - www.almostgolf.com)

Lawns look great. I used a TR last fall as well and had awesome results with it. Is that Confederate fescue blend?

Called the HD Rental Stores and they didn't have a clue what I was talking about? Is this going to be at every tool rental?

Not all have them yet. There is one in your area, but i don't have the store number off the top of my head. I'm at a show in Columbus, OH today. I'll email you the store this evening.

This may be a dumb question, but I will ask anyway. What if you have some bare spots? Do you cover with some straw for shade, or some sort of top dressing? Top dressing isn't common around here because of the larger lawns.
Oh yea could you look up a rental store near me? Thomasville, NC 27360.
Thanks,
Matt

When you power seed with a TR no straw needed - however you need to water everyday and keep seed wet. If you don't do this then the straw will help but i would never do this unless you did the water - 11 AM, 2 PM, 4 PM and 6 PM for 10 mins keep it moist and you will have almost 100% germination in 2 weeks.

Kind of off topic here, but- I have rented one of these units from Reinders here before and it worked great. The problem is nobody there seems to know what the heck I am talking about when I call. I actually want to buy one, in the spring they said come fall they will have them in stock, fall kind of crept up on us this year . For the last 2 days I have been trying to get a hold of someone to at least rent one and no luck. Is there anywhere within a 3hr. drive from Madison, WI to buy one. We need to start this coming monday hitting it hard and I'd rather not have to deal with Lesco now that Deere owns them.

Home Depots in High Point/Greensboro/Winston-Salem only carry Classens right now and had no idea about the Turf Revitalizers. Grand Rental Station (Greensboro) has them for $100/day, while STI Turf Care in Colfax has them for $125. Both are the 6 hp 20" models. I've got one reserved for tomorrow.
