Just wondering how much to charge to clear an are about 200 by 400 i am assuming. didn't get measurements just went to look and took pictures. I am going to rent the machine to do it.

basically the customer just want me to chop it all down not the trees but everything else. i don't have to remove it just chop and leave were it falls. the areas are in the pictures so you can see how big the area is. i am not sure what to charge for doing this, have to give price asap.

What are your renting? A brush hog? Need to rent a tractor with pto and trail 72" trail mower. $600 to drop it.

ok so if i rent one of those then how much to do the work? i don't think that would be that great of an idea though because there are rocks sticking out the ground.

A good bush-hog (6')and tractor(40HP or better diesel) will get that cleared in less than an hour by yourself. Charge your going rate for an hour plus the cost of the tractor/bushhog rental and fuel. They may even deliver it for you so figure in that cost. Here we have our own equipment. Most would charge in that case $100/hour; thatis, owning your own equipment. Bushhogs will skim over rocks if they're not too high or just raise the lift or dodge when you see them.
Would you or the owner ever chemically knocking it down?

no chemical allowed right now there is a ban on them till sept sometime. i think i am going to rent a tractor with a bush hog and just go right through it. i mean i could charge alot more if i just go in with the gas trimmers and two guys. i will see what i can get for it. i don't think i see myself doing this for any less than $1500 to $2500

I get $475.00 for doing an area 1/2 that size with lots of trees. 30HP tractor and 5 ' bush hog does it in 2.5 hours. Once I factor in drive and loading/unload it is more like 4 hours on the operator, so yeah, $100-125 per hour. Locally it costs $350 to rent one. I don't own one, so I just sub it out and pay the sub $350. Make $125 for writing a check and sending a bill. Wouldn't want to even think about trimming that.

Damn it sure looks pretty up there.

What was the final quote amount? I would do it for U.S. $475 if it was 2 acres as you say.
