View Full Version : How many commercials sign up in advanced?

I want to try and get my foot in the door and guarantee a year round pay check with atleast one account next year. Is it likely that a business would sign a contract in advanced and I dont start until the date written on the contract? Or is this time of year just absolutely to early?

yes they do...it's called a seasonal contract...usually paid up front. Depends on where your trying to get the accounts as to when they accept bids.

The commercial outfits I work with (prop mgrs) take all their bids in the early spring. If you are talking about signing on for next season, it may be too early. Property Mgrs want to get the absolute rock bottom price per cut (irregardless of quality, just be the biggest lowball out there) and therefore won't risk signing you on now until they get 100,000 bids in on a particular property. I don't mean to be negative, but this is the way it is here in so. MN.

Yes I am wanting to sign a few commercial accounts right now for 2009, or atleast start working on it. I was wondering if you ever get people to sign this far in advanced or do they wait until the current contract is up?

my experience in bidding hoa contracts are that they accept 5 bids...throw out the highest and the lowest...and take someone in the middle 3, I found this out after asking a nice hoa manager why I wasn't getting these bids.

when they sign all depends on the property manager. i signed one in june, and am supposed to sign 7 this fall.
