Thinking about buying a sulky for my 32" scag belt drive. Which of the following are the easiest when on a belt drive:
One wheeled velke
Two wheeled velke

I think a belt drive mower would have more trouble with a proslide. The proslide must result in more friction than any sulky.

I have a 32 toro and run the 2 wheeled jungle wheels.

I would recommend that you find a non-pivoting unit that has two caster wheels.

Go for two, I did and I think they're great.

my friend made the mistake and went ahead and bought the one wheeled and he hates it now that he tried my jungle wheels. Plus the jungle wheels will stay in the same lines as the one on you mower. with the one wheel you have one goofy lookin' line right down the middle of your stripe. That's just something to think about.

Velke X2 max tire width 27" tires are 3.25" wide.
Lesco 36" min tire width 23"
Exmark Turf Tracer min tire width 32".
So on some mowers it may come close to the tire tracks but not all.
One wheel line down the middle making 3 lines does look bad.
Jungle wheels wear out to fast. Hard to hang up out of the way.
Castered sulkies are too much to turn on a belt drive.

I've used both kinds, and I prefer the two-wheeled version. It's just more comfortable, and more stable. I'm a big guy, and the two-wheeled model was better on my knees and ankles. The velke that I bought with my Scag, is painted the same color as the mower, and the way it pivots, it doesn't "jackknife"

thats a good point lawngodfather about how it fits in some tire tracks and not others. If you dont like the jungle wheels then which brand do you like??

I have the 2 wheel type. I run it behind hydro and belt. I like being always behind the controls and not stretching out in the turns. You always have control. Backing up for me hasn't really been a problem for the belt drive mower mainly because they are not that heavy and it can be "manhandled" pretty easily. I'm not a big guy either.

definatly the double wheels. it will distribute your weight on both wheels rather than on one, plus you have a bigger area to stand on.

Velke X2 on all WB hydro's.
Velke X1 on my 36".
There are others, but I stick with what does good for me.

Yes but the bushings wear out to fast.
You can grease them 2 X a day and it makes no difference.
When you stand on one it has a load on them.
The fulcrum is in the wrong place.
