Well guys I figured I would give everyone an update(for those not on plowsite) as I havent been on here in over a week. We got hammered with over 30" of snow the last 7days. First storm dump almost 2' in less than 24hrs. Then we got another 6-8" this wendsday. So I have litterally been plowing snow for 7days only stopping to sleep/eat. Plowed 32hrs straight friday-saturday and wasnt even tired but had to come home cause I got stuck twice and had to keep calling my dad, so I slep for 6hrs then went out for another 19 and have basically been working like that since.

I have had both trucks working(dad driving white one) and was also able to pick up another account or 2 plus I did dozens and dozens of extra driveways because some guys couldnt keep up as Pittsburgh is not used to this kind of snow.

Many times we had to plow alot of roads just to get to accounts and I literally plowed every road in my whole nieghborhood. All my equipment has took a heck of a beating but everything is still running strong.

We were in a state of emergency for a long time. There is still alot of cleanup/snow hauling etc to do and more snow is expected to come so I will be real bus but I have tons of pictures and some videos that I will be working on getting up soon.

Nice videos. Yeah same send some snow down to RI. The last storm that you got we were supposed to get like 15 inches but only 3 fell. How does the Snow Dog plow compare to the Meyer? What one do you like best?

Lol They predicted 7-14 here and we got over 20" on the 6th!
Its tough I like em both. I use the meyer more but it deep snow the Dogg seemed better since its bigger/taller. The Dogg also seemed to do the roads a bit nicer maybe because its heavier. But for our normal 1-3" snow falls I seem to like the lil meyer better

Friday night/Saturday Morning was probably one of the coolest craziest nights ever. I never saw anything like it. So many cars stuck, jack knifed 18wheelers, trees down, power lines down, and lights out.
One point I had to plowed right through a tree to get to accounts as every other way was blocked. Another point I backed up in reverse a mile down a main interstate LMAO. And another road I drove down which is a 4lane road with tons of business and always people around was completely dark(not even a stop light on) and there was not a soul in sight, it was kinda eery...
178132
178133
178134
178135

And this one was on another highway cop stopped to help a stranded car and started yelling at the truck driver for tailgating when he wasn't even close kinda felt bad for the truck driver...
178136
Thats all for now I got a bunch more I will get up eventually

My dad was with me and all the lights of the main businesses were blinking on and off and it was doing it the whole time I was plowing too. It was really cool. Lol I dont mind it. Its easier work and I make more:) after going everyday for like 2weeks it is a bit tough but I could use a few more salt events to get rid of some of the pallet of salt I just brought the other day(not the one on the last picture, I brought another one!)

It was the wire for the salt vibrator, luckily I got out to take that picture and saw it. It must of just came off cause there was no wear on it.

Back on both is easy. fronts a little tougher to get them in there half ton was proabbly a bit easier as they just sorta slid in but the 2500 the fronts bolted in so it was a little tougher.

prairie 360. Never ran outta power just that snow was too deep or to much in the front of the blade and it lost traction. Wieght might have helped and they are stock tires but I got a good set sitting in the warehouse on my other quad.

I knew someone would catch it! Lost both of them over the couse of the the storms this month. I think I lost the first one by rubbing against a snow bank at a commercial but never found it. And I think the other blew off on the highway.
But honestly I have no clue where they are-most likley buried in a bank somewhere.

BUT, funny that you brought it up because I did get new ones yesterday!

yeah I agree, its a pain, fall/spring doesnt matter people who choose to do them in the fall do it so the pieces wont be everywhere people who choose spring just so they can look at them all winter

Yeah, I was out weed whacking behind a local business lot that I do yesterday. It's right next to a small stream runoff, so it's always growing thick, so I wanted to get a head start on it.

I have three cleanups next Saturday so far, so I'm gonna bust out the mowers and do a preliminary run though next Saturday.

I advertise in "The Bee" which is like the free local paper that EVERYONE reads and EVERYONE uses the classifieds. Problem is, like you said its very wide spread. What I have seen local people do is in the add put like the 3 or 4 towns/villages that they work in, or do what I do and have friends in the business that work in the areas that surround me that I dont do work in, and then when I get a call for their area, I forward them to so-and-so, and when they get a call for work in my area, they forward it to me. Works good for all of us. I don't like the listing what towns I work in because I wouldnt mind driving a bit for a landscape job, but not for mowing.

Its getting extremely stressfull:cry: Mowing started 2-3 weeks earlier this year and trying to get all that done plus mulch jobs on top of school is tough. I skipped a bunch the last 3 days to get work done. I got 2 weeks left plus finals after that. I got group projects and stuff too which suck even more.

Nice looking storage area, you got that whole building to your self or you just get to park there?
naw just that little area the whole buildingis 3blocks long. it is my uncles so I worked up a deal with him-free grass cutting lol but just keep my stuff there but my plows and spreader are also there just in another part
How many mowing accounts do you have total? 2? Or have you only gained 2 this year?

Does your storage space have a garage door or is it fenced in building? How close is it from your house. Finding storage/buildings and places to dump are one of the biggest problems to landscapers.

yes I built a shelf in there just keep some parts straps a tarp wheel chocks and trimmer string.

its barn doors that swing open with a man door also its not how I would have done it but I am not complaining. Bout 6-8 minutes down the hill from our house.
Yes couldnt agree more! Alot of regular self storage places are expensive, dont let you keep or work on things in them and usually only have certain hours you can get in. Finding dump sites are a pain I lucked out and got a place to dump bruch this year and still dump grass out of barrels and stuff but really need a nice piece of property to dump over a hill, getting rid of dirt concrete truck loads of leaves etc is tough

Front of shop for ya, nothing fancy but it will do...

They have been good to me. Honda is my favorite 21inch. I don't like the cheaper ones, these are the model right before the HRC. I run them pretty hard and have cut a good amount of high grass with them. The one had drive cable problems, it broke, dealer gave me the wrong one, so it broke pretty fast, the one on there now has been holding up. They are Great baggers and ok mulchers. ANd those decks sure can take a beating!

with the quad no way came out like nothing soil was soft too. I might have a few other jobs that require pulling them out that will be a bit tougher. Digging them up is a real pain I just did I job where they had to be dug up last weekend.

Just typed up what I wanted in word in stencil font printed really big and cut it out with an exacto knife. I used card stock rather than regular paper, They are about 2 yrs old now and falling apart. They are time consuming to make but I paint everything with them.
I made 1 that says B.L.C., one that says Bosetti Lawn Care, and one that says my number

No I usually only have to dump once a day and its usually always in a differnt spot. I try not to spin tire also, I have done a few times but stop put it in 4wd and it grows back in no time
I keep the grass thick and cut real nice, she used to cut it only a few times a year before me-so her lawn looks alot better than it did 3yrs ago. Shes happy I'm happy:)

Yeah they are tough nothing done to the mower a little done to the lawn but not bad. I always keep straps in the trucks I had a bigger one in the blue truck though. I only had a little 6ft one I used that and 2 27' 2" rachet straps. That night I took the 6ft one out and put a really long 4" strap in the truck and a small 8ft one.

I'm assuming that sense it was so little mulch he didn't think it would make sense to use the dump trailer, plus sense he could fit it in the bed of the truck he might have done it while doing his normal mowing route.

Yeah you still have to have a soft top layer to rake the seed in though but not tamping makes it real soft so I dont go over with the mower for 2-3 months and with all this rain its starting to get messy-I just cut that yard and it was a swamp today!
