nice setup. i like that dump body. the shovel holder did it come on the truck or did you add it?

Added it. The dump body is pretty much a custom order. Henderson 9' Fold Down Sides, Quick Tailgate, Henderson Extra Capacity Steel Painted Sides, SS Shovel Holders, LED Lights and a Front Straight Hoist (not a scissor). Then I had the under body coated and the inside Rhino Lined.

Ken, was the weatherguard more expensive than other brands? If you dont mind me asking how much was all of it (toolbox / cab guard)? reason i ask is because im looking to put the same exact setup on my truck when i get one (not your dump lol, uness u decide to keep it until next year). pm if youd rather not say.

Probably the most expensive out there in our area. PM was already sent. O ya tinted windows on both trucks too. For sun glare of course.

I'm liking the '08 style mirrors on the pickup.

i didn't know you could get the inside of the dump body rhino lined. i thought it would hold some material from sliding out. i thought about and was afraid shoveling some material off the back end would mess up the lining

Is that short box that heavy it looks like the overloads are just touching the bump stops.

The 08 body style is starting to grow on me when I first seen the 08s I thought ugly now its not too bad.

The truck is connected to the trailer. That trailer is super heavy, loaded to the hills. lol The truck will receive another leaf before winter.

Why did you replace the last 450. By the way, new logo looks great.

The last F450 is still for sale. The new F450 in the pic was added this year for the additional work. I am thou replacing the 2001 with an F550 08' for this winter just to add 4x4 and central hyrdos. I am a fan of always keeping new stuff. just how I am.

Thanks to all. The new logo is great. So many people just say how nice it looks. Sharp and clean + modern. I will try to get a few more up of other equipment and the new F550 in October (when I get it)

I never noticed the trailer so ya that would explain why the truck is almost sitting on the overloads.

I would add timbrens before adding more leaf springs a short wheelbase truck already rides rough. All the trucks I have had and my current truck has a 165wb and 11.5 flatdeck. I would hate to imagine what a F-550 swb would ride like :dizzy:

Good point. Maybe I will go that route then. The next truck coming in is a 08' 165wb F550. Cant wait!

This is going to start a war lol. I like all 3. I like the 7.3L the least due to the noise, warm up time in the winter stinks, and hard to work on (ie oil pan). But the mpg is the best staying the same pulling, plowing, or hauling material. The 6.0L right now I like the best. Sounds cool but still kinda quiet, has good power and get up and go for the highway, but is like PMS between pulling mpg (6-8) and just normal driving (12-14). The new 6.4L I have only had since April and well .... pulls and should plow awesome, way better than the 6.0L but MPG SUCK!!!!! 6.5 mpg right now. And it has a bit more "get up and go lag time" than the 6.0L ... so to answer your question .... I cant lol. I hate to see the 7.3L truck go, it has been very reliable to me, but if the new 6.4" end up being the same it will all work out.

Whelen Mini Liberty LED Amber. The are the best, super bright, durable, and cool looking. Already have the next one; going on the New Dump right before winter.

I just picked up our 08 450 extra cab with the v 10. Really like it so far .The v 10 is 6 k cheaper than the diesel and gets the same mpg as the diesel in these set ups.The filters are also alot cheaper as are the oil changes. We only put 10-11k miles per year on a stake body. But that said I have my dealer looking at getting me an 08 450 diesel crew cab pick up and trading my 07 350 cc lariet. How many miles are on your 01 450 ?

newlooklandscp
08-28-2008, 11:58 PM
88,600 miles. Truck is in great shape, hate to let her go but I just need a bigger truck for winter. Everything mechanically under the sun is 100% either new or replaced recently. Basically it is a new truck just older body. MPG in that truck are great too, same towing, hauling loads, or highway.
