I have Bermuda, and live in Charlotte, NC.
I have what may be a ton of fungus in my yard.
Thanks to some great advice, I am going to take a sample of it and have it analyzed.
If it is fungus, I will definitely treat it, but have been thinking of other options as well.
Can I cut out the area affected by fungus to get rid of it? I am worried about the grass in that area growing back. Is it better to treat it and leave the grass there so that it can grow again?
Can I put down fertilizer and fungus control on the same day? Should I space them out? It is about time to put out fertilizer and it would be nice to get them both done on the same day.
Thanks
Marcos

Before you get too carried away with anything...
Why don't you post a few digital photos on this site?
(A couple 'close ups' and a couple 'landscapes')
I'll bet you a hot fudge sundae that one of the lawnsite Aces will nail your exact fungus for you! :waving:
(correct recommendations as to what to do?...that's another issue altogether!)

I guess that would have helped. LOL I posted these on another site asking what the problem with my grass is and some said it might be fungus.
The grass in these areas (all over the backyard), simply does not grow. I did not know what the problem was.
I am getting it tested next week to know for sure.
I am hoping to have my soil and grass tested at Lesco. Does anyone know how much that costs?
Thanks

Is that a tennis ball in the last pic? By chance do you have a dog?

Your photos are inconclusive.
But you can maybe try this if you want to:
This site is the Univeristy Of Arkansas / Division of Agriculture's cooperative extension service:
http://www.aragriculture.org/diseases/image_library/turf/bermudagrass/default.htm
If you will, click on 'dollar spot'.
Now, take a small grass sample from of a section of turf that's near the edge of one of those 'whitish' spots that's in one of your digital pics.
How do they compare, if at all?
(A magnifying glass will definitely help!)
I suspect you could have, or could HAVE HAD aggravated case of dollar spot.
But it's very possible that much of it has run its course by now...and may be no longer active.
Or it could have been 'multiple diseases' going on at the same time, for example, dollar spot and slime mold (slime mold being a benign problem, as far as the health of the turf is concerned, usually).
