View Full Version : My Favorite Yard To Mow

Kennedy Landscaping

This is a yard that my friend from Riley Lawn Service helped me mow this evening. This is one of my favorite yards to mow. The neighbor might be calling me up sometime too, he was asking how many accounts we had and how much we charge and all that good stuff. Here are some pics of the yard. I would've used the 48" but the deck is all fu**ered up. Please feel free to comment.

looks good, did you double cut?? I can get some pretty good stripes with my 21 when I double cut, even though its a crapsman. How many accounts do you mow with that equipment?

how do you get your 21 to stripe so well? mine ends up looking like a 42 cut it because the wheel marks between the two strips dont show and then it doesnt stripe for crap like i said... i could never get stripes that defined with my honda...

Nice.... but you must charge ALOT to push that big of a lawn and to bring 2 trucks to 1 job site...

Not too much for that yard, only forty on that one, I usually use my YTH 180 with striper but the deck swaybar is broke so I'm waiting on that deal. In pic 4 that is my friend who helps me out when I mow and landscape and all that good stuff. Can't really tell it but he is wearing one of my company shirts.

No double cut, my mower has a homeade striper kit on it. Piece of 3-inch PVC attached to back and filled with concrete, and it doesnt slow the mower down at all.

I personally don't like the way a 21" cut looks at all.

Looks good! I'll say it too, there's no way I'd walk behind a 21" mower for a lawn that big... Now when I was 16, no problem, I used to mow most of my lawns that way.

As for a 21" striping... The BEST cutting and mulching 21" mower I've ever seen... a Craftsman! I have no idea why they stripe so well but I know they do. And it's sad when a homeowner can mulch 4" of growth with his crapsman and leave a great cut with no residue on top and I have a $1,000 21" that can't mulch for crap. Even the big riders with high horsepower can't mulch like a 21" crapsman.

Nice lawn hole in one. Like I said I usually mow it with my YTH 180 but the swaybar on the deck is broken.

Lawn Freak I noticed you mow with a tractor. Does it stripe like that? Do you have a roller on it?

well i did work for a landscaper... and he told me how hi and low to set the cut and it looks really good for my front yard but it cuts like crap in the backyard but we have centipede and some wire grass bermuda in it and just cuts like crap i think it is set to low and my dad still thinks it is set to high... but i will figure it out... but what can i do for a striping kit? my yard looks really good other than you cant see any stripes..

I would love to have a commercial mower but my dad says I don't need one. Any suggestions?

Yes I did the same setup on it that I have on my push, PVC filled with concrete. Works very well

Not sure how many lawns you cut, but I new I was going to get pretty busy this year. I brought nice echo equipment and a bigger mower, and I use every thing I got, my dad told me I didn't need the stuff I brought and made fun of me when I brought it lol. But I use it all, saved up for it all and paid cash.

I think I might just start setting money back and buy a stander or something like that, he says I don't need a ZTR but I want to get more lawns and get way more involved.

Lawn Freak how is the roller attached to the tractor?

Kennedy Landscaping
08-18-2008, 08:07 AM
Right now it is a tow behind bacause I havent got it attached under mower yet. There is a threaded rod going through the whole tube with U-Bolt Brackets on the ends, the opposite ends will attach to mower but for now just a steal cable to hook it from Bracket to back of mower.
