I have a customer whos core buss is maintaning a communications cable from Lynn Mass to Halifax Nova Scotia. They also locate breaks between NYC and Europe. His side buss is fishing charter cappy. A few months ago I added a zone to his sytem and traded it for a day on the water. Today was the day.It was me , my GF my 2 employees and one employees wife.
We landed over 40 fish ( haddock, cod , pollok , cusk) Ended up with about 27 keepers. Saw a Minke whale, had a 9ft blue shark follow a haddock up and then stayed around the boat. The cappy took the smallest pollock out of the cooler , rigged it ans teased the shark for about 10 minutes before unhooking it and throwing to him.
Came home with about 13 lbs of fillets.

Sounds like a lot of fun. Did it rain the whole time, or was it nice for a change?

Some overcast , but not 1 drop, was a nice change.

Mmmm.... good deal. Been raining here about 30 hours straight now. I love it. High of 57 yesterday.

I still think I'm gonna take a day to myself next week for some fly fishing.

Same here, even cooler. Only saw high of 54 yesterday. Gonna check gauges this afternoon for totals.

We have the Canadians to thank for cooler, wet weather. Too bad they didn't include some French fries and gravy.

Been 90's down here just a bit south and west of you CO guys. Looks like the high will only be mid 80's with a chance of rain. (I'll believe the rain when it settles the dust)

And another fine day on Saturday.Did a memorial bike run for a good friend of mines wife that passed away last November from Pulminary fibrosis.Special thanks to the Middlesex county sherrifs office for the escort and all the local cops along the way that stopped traffic as 110 motorcycles rolled thru every red light and stop sign along the 100 mile route. Then a bbq and beers after. We ended up raising $12,000 for the PF association for researc.

Sounds like a pleasant way to spend the day.... and for a good cause too. Nice.

I can't stand it any longer...........NOBODY commented on the fact that Mike manages to post a snow covered landscape pic in the middle of August????

You've got to appreciate the subliminal messages in that! Post blow out winter just can't get here fast enough? Ok, me too. I really am looking forward to hearing the wife "why aren't you at work.......?" instead of "Your never home........!!"

If you want to catch the big ones, you need the right equipment (http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/n/a/2008/08/21/national/a164819D69.DTL&tsp=1).
