I live in central MS and I have Classic St. Augustine. It's been on the ground for about a year and a half. I treat it with granaular fertilome f-stop fungicide once a year and if I see brown spots, I give them a spot treatment with a liquified fungicide. Watering depends on the amount of rainfall and the look of the turf, but I water twice a week on average for about an hour each time. I fertilize with fertilome lawn food plus iron (28-0-04), which I have applied twice sa far this year.
In some areas, the grass is dark green, but in others it leans towards a yellow-green. I stays this way more or less consistently. Any thoughts on how I can get a uniform dark green?
I've attached some pics. In some of them you'll see the grass dying out at the lawn edges, but this is because I'm surrounded by a lot of mature trees and their roots are pulling the moisture out (which I simply accept to be the case). You'll also see several brown spots. This is where I had dropped topsoil and sand in low spots to even out the lawn.
Thanks for your comments.
