Does anyone have a document or article that explains aeration that I can use. I am looking to make a brochure with this info and use it as a flyer.

Thanks in advance,

Rick

And if anyone can tell me why I should not purchase a pull-behind core aerator please do. I already have a nice lawn tractor, Northern Tool has a nice pull-behind for around $300.

The advertiser "Plugr" on this site has some useful information on their webside about aeration.

You might also try Ryan's website. Ryanturf.com for some info. The biggest issue I can see with the tow behind units is many are not heavy enough to get good penetration in the soil.

The real problem with the units that Northern Tools sells is that they damage the turf - alot. I have one of those units and you can add weight to the tray on top and if it is not too dry it will go in the ground, but the hole that it makes is shaped like a funnel rather than a nice hole with straight up and down walls. I guess that they are better than nothing - but probably not alot better. Also don't even think about trying to turn with that thing in the ground as you will have huge areas of turf torn up and with all the weight on the top tray unless you are Superman you can't raise it up from the tractor seat.
