6.5 birggs and stratton half power

Hello Im new to the site so thank you for your help I have a 6.5 hp birggs and stratton motor that will only run if chock is on if I force govner onpe it will run at wot but as soon as I open chock it dies and if i leave govenr run on its own then open chock it diee has fresh sparkplug gas and an air cleaner any ideas? thank you

Try cleaning out the float bowl. (the round brass looking thing on the bottom of the carburator) Just remove the bolt in the bottom of it and take it off. Spray it out with some carb cleaner and put it back together. Careful not to lose the gasket.

You could also check the fuel filter.
