TRIMMER CARB ALWAYS IS AT BOTTOM WHEN ON THE TRIMMER HOLDER THE CARB FILLS WITH GAS IS THIS CARB PROBLEM OR JUST NEED TO GET IT TO BE LEVEL?(ANCIENT TRIMMER OK IN SAME SITUATION)

Had the same problem. Solution is easy, go to the hardware store and get a short section of hollow steel pipe. Take the pipe and put it over the end of the hanger that holds the trimmer and bend the little sucker until it holds the rubber handle of the trimmer tight. Remove the pipe, replace the trimmer and no more slipping trimmers guaranteed. <br><p><font size="1">Edited by: MLS

YES IT IS MODEL 2601

That was just a shot in the dark, LOL. I had many problems with Echos doing this same thing, but I blamed it on Zama carburetors. I think the 2601 has a Walbro, but I may be wrong.
