I live in southern indiana have a little over 1/2 acre lawn. I aerated and overseed in the fall. Lawn looks great. Soil does have a lot of clay. Would you guys recommend aerate in the spring as well?

thanks

I have been working at a golf course for the last four years, and we aerate the entire course once. That is done in the fall, but I belive that if we had time we would also consider doing in the spring. Just not enough time ounce the grass starts growing. :D

If you aerated and seeded in the fall, your fescue may not have a good enough root system to handle another aerating this soon.

Generally speaking, fall aeration benefits northern grasses somewhat more than spring aeration.

Unless you're striving for perfection at any cost, an annual fall aeration would be adequate.
