Need rec. on best bush to create hedgerow

We have a vacant lot next to our home and would like to create a hedgerow of bushes on the property line to serve as a buffer from the neighboring property. We basically want a wall create by the bushes. Nothing real high -- maybe 3' - 4'. We live in warm humid conditions of south alabama. Any suggestions on the best type of bush to plant?

Boxwood is a slow grower,sweet viburnum,azeala,or holly are a few that come to mind

Verigated Privet forms a nice full and quick growing hedge. You may have to trim them a couple times a season as they grow fast.
