well if you dont use sand people will SLIP and cars will SLIDE and you will be sued.. sealmaster says that you should use 3lbs per gal dont just get all 6s and 7s on this take your time and do it right. it will be worth it in the long run

my friends father owns an asphalt company that makes millions a year he doesnt use sand on driveways. honestly he doesnt really do driveways unless someone comes to him he is all commercial does sealcoating, paving, stripping, sweeping, patching, concrete work, super sucking, grading, trust me a HUGE COMPANY. hE KNOWS WHAT HES DOING AND TOLD ME SANDING A DRIVEWAY IS NOT NECESARY, ANYTONE THAT WANTS TO TELL ME DIFFERENT BETTER HAVE A BETTER RESUME THAN HIM. LOL CHRIS HE IS THE HIGHEST PRICED AROUND BECAUSE HE DOES THE BEST JOB HE FIGURES HELL CHARGE THE MOST AND WHEN A CUSTOMER GOES WITH THE CHEAP SKATE ONCE HE WONT DO IT AGAIN AND WILL COME TOO HIM BUILT A SERIOUS BUSINESS AND LIFE FOR HIMSELF 90000SQ FT HOUSE ON THE WATER SOUTH SHORE OF LONG ISLAND 4 CORVETTES 3 HARLEYS SPEEDBOATS AND ETC SO I DONT WANT TO HEAR HOW YOU NEED A $16,000 MACHINE TO START AND 50 LBS OF SANDA GALLON FOR A DRIVEWAY IT IS NOT TRUE HE STARTED WITH A PAINT MACHINE AND BUILT THIS BUSINESS TOO WHAT IT IS IN 17 YEARS

hey i started with a very cheep system and did fine and i used sane and it looked great
but the truth is you need to use sand if some one slips on a drive you have dont you will be sued. you are putting down the sealer and the manufactur states that you need to add sane and if you fail to do you you will be at fault. not trying to piss you off just telling you the truth then again LI doesnt have any hills. *trucewhiteflag*

Sealcoat plus is 100% correct.
No sand....Big liability.
I dont do much residential.....Maybe 100 a year....
90% of what I do is large commercial....I would never take a chance on either using a mix without sand.
Sealer is very slippery when it rains without sand.

Just curious as to why you started the thread looking for a distributor in Binghamton yet your shop is on LI? On the sand issue...if a homowner never had sand mixed in, how would they know the mix should include sand and turn it into a lawsuit? Is the sealer in question very slick by nature?
wow 90000 sq foot house on long island. I highly doubt he has a 90000 sq ft house. is his name donald trump........
I have sealed many driveways in glencove and in the stony brook area as I have family there and we go down in the early months before it warms up upstate. I always add about 2-3 lbs of sand per gallon. actually most sealer is mixed with sand when the produce it. its a little secret...
most commercial jobs require sand in the specs. and I know most customers want sand because not only does it work as a traction control it also works on a filler to fill cracks.
as for a trash pump, good luck.... A trash pump circulates and does not agiatate sealer, what will happen is the bottom of the tank will be all clumped up and you will be spraying garbage.
I could care less about your buddy with the 90000 sq ft house speedboats, corvettes blah blah blah who cares....
