Talk these people into an unnecessary upgrade...... just replace those hand valves with solenoid valves and add a $750 controller. :rolleyes:

Oh, and change the metal pipe to brass.

Hey let's go the extra mile and put in a mainline, 6' box for each valve, and oh! let's make it a two wire system.

Please save that;

Carefully cut it out and UPS it to me, as i would like to install that at MY house.

Nice, but I don't see any garden hose "Y" splitters.

I prefer the 4 way spitter, brass, with Y splitters on each one.

If you run into one of those here, you know you've hit the big time. Nothing says class like a brass 4-way.

You could save the HO a little dinero by sticking (2) valves in that 6" box...

Let's just go old school and no boxes, just buried. Texas guys like to use the 521 since they charge extra for it :laugh:

We have a company here that WILL NOT use VB's of any type on residentials.
When I asked why the response was so that the HO would have to call them for service since no one else would know where the valves are. Asked him if he knew what a 521 was, the guy says no and asks what is it, what does it do. Classic jaw-drop look when I told him.

On the other hand, can't believe any of his systems ever passed an inspection, but they did (and do). He's been in biz here since 1967!

WOW, I can't believe that. Do customers really allow this to happen? What kind of inspectors would let this pass?

Most people here judge systems by price 1st, then coverage (is everything getting wet), then what college you attended or root for (U of FL fans will not hire FL State U contractors, etc.).

Stupid but true.

As for the inspectors - the kind that get Christmas gifts that feature pictures of dead Presidents and historical figures.
