My backyard always floods when it rains. The ground is uneven. Could I fill in all the low lying areas with top soil and replant grass seed? Will this elminate or at least help with the flooding issues?
Thank you!

What kind of subsoil do you have?
If it's clay, no amount of topsoil will help you.
You might need to think about putting drainpipes in.

I don't think it's clay. We had an above ground pool put in and what they dug up was just dirt.

you can fill it in with some fill but keep in mind you need to have the water drain away from your house but also from your neighbours. you are suppose to try and keep the water off their ...meaning if you ADD fill you have change the slope so now you must keep the water away from them.. if you leave like it has been then its up to mothernature

We have a fairly large yard and the water is in the center, not near the neighbors at all. It's mainly like mini lakes.

make mini fish ponds.....you should have no problem just keep in mind where you need to drain the water
