Perhaps Echoman8 can help me because my Echo GT2000 gives me a lot of problems to get started. I just put a new primer bubble on it and the engine does not want to start anymore. Of course I can bring it to the repair man who is three weeks backed up, but I like to know what I can do to fix it. Give me a hint please. Thanks.

Hi,

Thanks for thinking I could help.

First, if you will refer to the third post by Sticky, he says it best. Give us a lot of info in and you will get a lot of good info out.

So, please try to post exactly what it is doing cold/hot choked/unchoked and on & on &on.

Post any and all things that you feel could be a factor in it running badly.

Thanks
echoman

Sacrart,

There is one particular weakness of echo trimmers. It is the plastic choke. With time, it does not seal, making a cold start almost impossible without priming.

To test, allow the motor to cool completely, remove the air filter and cover, place choke lever in choke position, then, insert something between the choke flap and stud (air filter cover stud). This seals the choke like it sealed when new.

Pull the rewind a few times. If it fires and dies say between 3 to 6 pulls, then the choke is your problem. The only solution I have found is to buy a new one.

Good luck,
echoman
