Depends on your local economy. Here I pay college age kids $11-12/hr. I have also used high school kids, and had some real good workers from this group who are thrilled to make $9/hr.

Pay them as little as possible. Since you are just using them for fall cleanups, no need to worry about keeping them happy for the long haul. I would try $8 per hour.

8.00 an hour is a joke they can make more than that at McDonalds. I cant get help for less than 12.00 an hour. Anything less than that you can plan on them tearing up any thing they can get there hands on.

Actually working at Mickey Dees or in retail is harder, IMO, than doing lawn work. Sure our work is physically tougher but you get used to it within a few days. A 'helper' for an LCO has no responsibilities....doesn't have to deal with any customers...when you compare the two jobs overall, there are a lot of things harder about restaurant and retail jobs. If you never worked one, try one out and get back to me

$8 or so is fine. Most people that have all day long free to work, just for 1-2 months, they probably have trouble holding down a job in the first place or they wouldn't be so available.

Just keep in mind, you may want to rehire them in the Spring if they are any good. So be fair with the pay.
