I planted some fescue a couple years ago and it was finally able to withstand a brutal August in GA, yay! But the problem now is that the weeds that I thought were weeds turn out to be off shoots from the many oak trees that I have surrounding my yard. They're all over the lawn - little green leaves growing from tough as nails roods the have to be severed a few inches from the surface with a sharp tool or shovel. I've dug some up but they come right back. You don't notice them when I cut the grass, but the roots get stronger and stronger if I don't uproot them. I've worked really hard over the past 4 years with this lawn and now I'm feeling depressed because I feel that eventually there's going to be too many to manage and they'll take over the lawn. It's an otherwise, beautiful lawn. This really sucks! Is there anything I can really do?
