I had to remove both tanks off my Everride Hornet due to plastic shavings being left in from the factory. I removed the tank bushings and elbow fuel fitting. I fushed the tanks and allowed them to dry for 10 days.

I'm ready to reassemble. What is the proper way to install the bushings?

1. Install bushings into tank then install elbow into bushing?

OR

2. Install elbow into bushing, then install bushing into tank?

Thanks!

put the bushing in the tank, lube the end of the fitting with a little w40 and push it in.

Would regular 4-stoke oil be OK instead of WD-40?

Didn't you mean a little Fluid Film ?

Anything slick to help the fitting slide into the bushing without damage is fine.
