View Full Version : "ignore list" reasons

What purpose does an "ignore list" serve on this site? My best guesses are: 1) One's posts were proven wrong by a member and he doesn't want to admit it, 2) His beliefs are different from others, 3) He is jealous of another member's success.
Beyond that, I can't figure it out. Even the above 3 ideas don't add up to an "ignore list" IMO. So why have it? I thought this site was designed for people to share & have fun. Unless someone is "stalking" someone, an "ignore list" just does not add up.

I have only put one person ever on ignore list and not for any reasons you have stated. It might sound silly but reading this persons post with an ant crawling around the screen was annoying and wasnt worth the trouble.

You people actually use the ignore feature? I just figured it was something they said to get under the skin of the person they didn't like. like, "you on ignore, i can't see what you are saying." when really they are reading every word.

I just figured it was something they said to get under the skin of the person they didn't like. like, "you on ignore, i can't see what you are saying." when really they are reading every word.I think that is the case most of the time. One time a while back mm had me on ignore, so I quoted someone who was arguing with him and he commented that he couldnt see what I wrote but was sure I was agreeing with the guy he was arguing with. I just found it funny that someone will actually go through the trouble to do it and then comment about what they didnt see you write.

It's commical. Same thing goes with talk radio & TV. Weirdos call in to complain, but they're still watching. Never admitting they have the option to just change the channel. I figure most of these folks have personal problems. Logic.

There is only 1 person on this whole ENTIRE site..... that I've had to finally put on to "ignore", because of his looong track record here of making (very short ) yet ASININE statements that aren't generally just "contrary" to the flow of the debate / discussion; most of them are just outright CLUELESS shots-in-the-dark coming from (quite possibly) a mad man ! :dizzy::dizzy::dizzy:

No way Americanlawn!
I could never cast off someone who has such a hottie in their avatar!:o
The person I've "ignored" will not likely post on THIS thread.
And we've made a mutual agreement to "ignore" each OTHER.
Frankly, that's really the only way that system can ever work.
