Purchasing a new or used walk behind mower

I have found several used walk behind mowers for $1500.00. One is a Woods and the other is a John Deer. I have seen that everyone is talking about new mowers only. This would be my first mower and I am wondering, if there is an advantage to purchasing new.

New is always great, especially if you plan on taking good care of it. However if $$$ is tight, you can find some real good equipment out there for a great price too!:blob4:

If it is in good shape buy the used one to start. Then when you are going strong buy a new one and keep the other for a back up.
