Great Dane Super Surfer hydro reservoir starts leaking out of cap after about 30 mins of use then rh hydro noise like hmmmmm and as though its slipping. Installed new pump 4 weeks ago and all worked fine until Tuesday this week, When i had a slight accident and dumped the mower in a lake. rear wheels only visible (completely upside down) what a bummer she was going great until then. Dried her all out and she cranked up nicely next day. But developed this hydro problem, could it possibly be water contamination in lines and if so how on earth do i drain it all out or could it be air. The bubbling fluid is very hot and like a foaming look to it.
Thanks in anticipation

Sounds like a suctions side leak in the hydro system. Check over "ALL" the hydro fittings including the fittings on the pump and the hoses and T-fittings also make sure the actual hydro filter is not loose.

I don't think so, I have all mine made locally by a hydraulic supply company that carries fittings and hoses for all types of applications. I bring them the old one and they make an exact replacement while I wait.

Is the hydro oil milky or just foamy? Big difference and if its milky then yes the system will need to be flushed.
Here is a link to a previous post on oil extractors http://www.lawnsite.com/showthread.php?t=244504
Although these extractors will not completely drain you system(oil in wheel motors and pumps and hoses)

A few years back, had a walk behind come in the was dumped into a pond up to it's handles. Cleaned the engine out and changed the oil. As for the hydros, pulled each motor, each hose and the pumps, drained and flushed with clean oil and then put it all back together with new oil. And yea there was water in the system.
I don't think there is a easier way to do this and be completely sure of getting all the water out if any got in.
Good Luck
