Numbers are: 536.885900 Code 8299 I recently picked up a craftsman 8hp 26in trac drive snowblower for free99. I cleaned the carb and it runs perfect. But when I was checking the forward and reverse speeds I noticed the track and channel move back and forth. I pulled the bellypan off and the shaft to the track drives moves about an 1/2 inch. It still stays engaged in the gear OK. There are not any bearings to hold it from doing this. Just a couple bronze bushings. Am I missing something? My question is are they supposed to do this? Is it OK to sell to someone or am I going to have a PO'ed buyer? Thanks guys:cool2:

The broze bushings are replaceable, and should seat into the chassis wall.
If it will still move with new bushings, Someone replaced them after they wore through the old bushings and into the wall of the blower. In that case, it's not worth fixing.
