I have a customer who wants a mulched flower bed along the back wall of their house. I've already completed the estimate and just need to give it to the customer, I'm looking to see what others would charge, see if I'm in the right area as far as price. I usually just do maintenance on the lawns, not installs, so I want to do this right.

The bed is to be approximately 31' long and 3' wide(curved), natural, trenched edge. Black mulch to be used at depth of 2"-3"
Installation of approx. 10 Mums, 10 Asters
There are a few depressions that will need to be filled in/area leveled out. not bad though.

Prices/Advice all welcome.

From edge of patio to corner of house.

Thanks.

Are you using a sod cutter or doing it by hand? Using a edger or also doing that by hand? I'd say $500-$600 if it were me.

I'm doing edging and everything by hand.

I wouldn't go any lower. Removing sod by hand stinks.

Thanks for the replies, guys.

I had it estimated around $500.

The problem is most likely I'm not figuring the correct amount of time its going to take to remove all the sod, so I'm shorting myself on labor hours.

What kind of hourly rate would you want to get on a job like this?
