Planning to move more toward lawn treatments next season. Past business has included treatments only with existing commercial maintenance customers. Skid sprayer and push spreader got it done, sure am tired of push'n and pull'n! Want to build residential accounts and phase out mowing, etc. Considering a Lesco HPS with a gregson drop-in sprayer. I have a JRCO front mount spreader on my Kubota, figured I could make the drop-in work there for larger properties.

I've learned over the years the most expensive is not always the best with equipment. However, I'm green(no pun intended)in this area. Would like a machine that does reasonably well on slopes and efficient for 5k-20k ft. lawns.

I won't have hot shots on the machine, just myself.

Past experience has been spring granular pre emergent followed in 2 weeks or so with liquid broadleaf. Figured on combining the two in 1 liquid app.

Are there spread and spray apps I'm not thinking of that I'll wish I had a PG or Zspray or Turfco or a Don's Dandy or Ben's Best or a God only knows who's to do it best ?

Just don't want to shoot myself in the foot right from the get-go.

Appreciate your thoughts:confused::confused::confused:

The problem with those drop in type sprayers (Generally speaking, I'm not familiar with the specific brand your looking at) is that they lack capacity. The only I had did 12,000 sq. ft., and I was always refilling it. The ride on's do alot more. The T3000 has a pretty big capacity, and because of the frame it holds very well on hills. I have a PG and it sucks on hills, and I've heard the same from alot of people on the Z-spray.

Everyone who has seen the T3000 seems to like it, except for this crazy rabbit guy who seems to have something against it but hasn't seen it yet.

I am extremely satisfied with my T3000, it kills weeds great, it spreads fertilizer evenly, it holds like crazy on any hill I throw at it, it is easy to learn, and it is very reliable. I use it on lawns from 4000 Sq. Ft. to acres at a time. Call Turfco and they will be glad to give you any information you would like.

Twotone,
You need to spread with the Jrco spreader and spray at the same time with a 10 gal tank, electric pump and three wide area nozzles. It can be tricky to operate both systems at once and still steer.

:waving: If you are serious about getting into more lawn applications, there is only one unit we recommend. We tried all the above, but TURFCO's T3000 is heads above any other. In our humble opinion.

Our T3000 has 200 hours on it now, and we will be buying another this winter. The adjustable spray/spread pattern ranges from narrow to big (12 - 13 feet). Our unit can exceed 5 mph forward or reverse. Hydrostatic tranny too. 12 hp engine plus low center of gravity allows it to (safely) climb 45 degree hills up & down at the same speed (not recommended, but we did it). Plus it stops on a dime.

It easilly fits through 36" gates, and the smallest lawn we used it on was 2500 sq ft. We have used it on lawns as large as 17 acres. So if you're talking 5 - 20 k, it's a no-brainer (in our opinion). We are currently color-coding route cards where we plan to use a T3000 in the future...(5000 sq ft & larger). Some lawns that were previously too hilly will now be treated with a ride-on.

The T3000 kills weeds very effectively, runs fast when you want it to, covers a wide swath when you want, rides safely on a carrier rack (no need to haul a trailer behind your truck if you don't want to...why would anybody prefer pulling a trailer if they didn't need to?).

Hope this helps. I have identified several disadvantages of the T3000's competitors. We shopped around for a long time too. I honestly suggest you call TURFCO for a demonstration.

p.s. A TURFCO rep visited us this afternoon for 3 1/2 hours -- just to see if we needed anything. Product quality + customer service = TURFCO. :usflag::canadaflag:

TT,

Personally after using the Ride-on's for sometime, I would go back to the Chemlawn Gun a 3/8" hose 400' and a Blue nozzle, running a 50 Mesh strainer screen, on Lawns 5-20K.

Seriously for any Broadleaf Blankets or Insect Controls with a Fert Tank Mix.

For Granular the ride-ons are # 1 for anything over 10K even with the Blower clean up......Fatigue is much lower.

Thats just My Opinion.

I bought a 25 gallon fimco spray tank from gemplers. I put 2 teejet nozzles on with 3/8 inch watts quickconnect fittings. Built a saddle for the tank and mounted above my motor. Custom mount from the JRCO mount to the Lesco truckster.
