I seem to always have a problem with Poa and Rescue grass in the spring and Crabgrass in late summer. I use Simazine starting Mid to Late Sept. And again in late Nov. early Dec. I use Pre-M DG in Feb. and again in Apr. I live in North Texas. What am I doing wrong?

In a lawn, I have seen simazine not last more than a month or two. I consider it more of a postemergent. I would try delaying the simazine til the month before the poa emerges. Pre-M is probably not holding long enough for you either. What kind of grass is being treated and is it on irrigation? In warm season areas, Pre-M might have to be applied every 90 days at a low rate throughout the growing season to do any good. That's how I have to apply it here in Hawaii for it to work, however I would never do that to a lawn. Too much root pruning, then there is a thin sod left that weeds easily invade.

Many variables: Rates. Are you using proper rates according to label?
Equipment: What are you using to apply?
Calibration: Is it calibrated properly?
Applicator: Is it you doing the apps yourself or do you have
employees..."beaners" is what I think someone
else called them? Unhappy employees don't do a
quality job.

Your questions are kind of hard to answer because they're pretty general with no specifics other than the time of year you apply.
