Couple of my customers ask me if I can put fertilizer on there lawns, not a weed and feed nor pest. I am wondering if I need a lic for just fert? I am in NJ

That's correct. And remember this holds true for any product you buy at HD. If it contains any pesticide (herbicide, insecticide, fungicide), you must be licensed to apply it commercially.

Also be wary of using ferts with phosphorus in your area. They dont take the lake friendly fertilizer thing lightly. Although the fines are small it never looks good getting busted in front of a clients house.

Good point! And if anyone needs phosphorus free fert. let me know. Minimum order is one pallet.

we've been told in my area, if it has a epa reg # you need a lic to apply for profit

In my opinion. IF you are putting anything down on a customers property you better know what you are doing. Have a license and be insured.
