weve been running 32" - 48" - 52" exmarks for near a decade .
right now were running a 48 with 15 horse kaw (had it 3 years now) ,
and a 32 with same 15 horse kaw (6 months old) and we really like
both of them . and we liked all our previous ones . but a couple we
put briggs and strattons on and i didnt like them , give me a kaw !!!!!

and i think on a 38 youll have the option of 13 or 15 horse , and ide suggest
paying the extra money for the 15 . and if the option of regular handle bars or the pointed up ones dont get the pointed up ones because theyre a pain imo .

This was the first commercial mower I bought. Exmark 36 inch Belt drive. I love this mower. It is easy to work on. Runs great all the time. I bought the belt drive just because of cost but I hear the hyro is awesome. Something to think about. The single wheel sulky leaves a track in the middle of your wheel path. For really nice yards I do not use it. The two wheel sulky that tracks the same as the mower wheels leaves a much nicer appearance. I typically dont use the sulky on great lawns.

I have nothing but good things to say about my 36 Exmark Metro. Its a great mower to have on your trailer, its big enought to know out some larger areas but small enough for those tight spots and hard to access area's (Back gated area). Its light weight (as far as W/B's), turns easy, runs strong, easy to work on. Like I said I can't say enough about them.

Would never buy any machine with that deck again, my deck cracked everywhere. It had some strange Harmonics I've never seen any any mower before. Buy the deck that comes on the TTHP. much better in many ways.

worthless for any belt walk. Metro is very good wb but to use as commercial wb for making living? nope. Be careful with your wrist and hands illness that belt wb will bring to you later in life. The best WB is eXmark TTHP, any of them, you have to have Hydro and ECS to do commercial mowing. Hydro wb almost has 0 maintenence, all you do is changing hydro oil 15-50 once a year, piece of cake to do, and grease your joints, sharpening blades, change engine oil every 50hrs and that is it!!! TTHP is money machine.

Had a 36" Metro. Sold it after 100 hours. Was set up as a mulcher. Cut was great on flat level yards only. If you deal with slopes, hills, uneven terrain, spend the cash and buy a TTHP. You won't be as likely to scalp a lawn here and there, plus your back will thank you because all the Metro has is a reverse assist which turns into no assist after the belts wear in a bit. In my case about 20 hours.

best belt drive machine on the market, period. They just don't break.......

Only thing we ever see is loose trans belts, so they slip up hill......adjust them up and away you go.

They are bad for a dealerships service and parts department.....I'll tell you that.

can you get the metros with hydro?

09-12-2008, 04:37 PM
can you get the metros with hydro? No, The Metro's and the no longer manufactured Metro HP's are belt drives. The Viking, Turf Tracer HP's and Turf Tracers are Hydro.

The eXmark Metro is one of the best fixed deck belt drives on the the market, (32,36,48). Great mulching deck. I have owned several over the years, one for about 8 years, just change the oil & filter about every 50hrs, lube per maintenance schedule and maybe have to change a belt every once in a while.
